THE PLACE AND ROLE OF SOCIAL WORKERS IN THE COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
Abstract
The article discusses the features of the professional activity of a social worker in the system of comprehensive support for children with disabilities. It shows that social workers act as key intermediaries between children with disabilities, their families, social institutions, as well as state and non-governmental social protection organizations. Particular attention is paid to the functions of the specialist – coordination of interdepartmental interaction, assistance in the realisation of the rights and interests of the child, organization of social support for the family, and the creation of conditions for inclusion in the educational environment. The principles of social support in social work are analyses.
