Abstract

This article analyzes effective strategies for teaching Russian grammar to foreign learners in the context of higher education. The author proposes an integrative instructional model based on the combination of Total Physical Response (TPR), Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), dictogloss, and comprehensible input. Based on classroom observation and analysis of two student groups, the paper examines the advantages of this comprehensive approach over the traditional grammar-translation method. Particular attention is given to reducing speech-related anxiety, fostering metalinguistic awareness, developing stable grammatical skills, and integrating grammar into communicative practice. The article also highlights the model’s practical applicability in various educational formats, including remote and hybrid instruction. The findings support the model’s broad implementation in Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) programs.
