THE ROLE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN ENHANCING WRITING AND SPEAKING SKILLS
Abstract
The integration of digital technology in language education has revolutionized the development of writing and speaking skills. This paper examines how digital tools such as word processors, speech recognition software, collaborative platforms, and mobile applications enhance language learning. A comprehensive review of existing literature demonstrates that digital technology promotes learner autonomy, encourages collaboration, provides instant feedback, and increases student motivation through gamified elements. The findings highlight that while these tools significantly benefit writing and speaking proficiency, challenges related to access, over-reliance on digital tools, and the necessity for balanced teaching approaches remain. This paper concludes that educators should continue to adapt digital technologies to meet the evolving needs of language learners.
