STRATEGIES TO ENHANCE THE COMPETITIVENESS OF UZBEKISTAN AS A TOURIST DESTINATION: A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE
Abstract
Enhancing the competitiveness of Uzbekistan as a tourist destination requires a comprehensive strategy that builds on the country’s unique cultural and natural assets while addressing systemic challenges. This article examines the key factors influencing tourism competitiveness, drawing on comparative analysis with regional and international destinations. It emphasizes the importance of destination branding, infrastructure modernization, workforce development, and digital integration. The role of governance, public-private collaboration, and sustainability is also highlighted. Based on global best practices and local potential, strategic recommendations are proposed to position Uzbekistan as a vibrant and competitive tourism hub.
