AIR POLLUTION IN UZBEKISTAN: A REVIEW OF THE LAST FIVE YEARS
Abstract
Air pollution has emerged as a critical environmental and public health issue in Uzbekistan over the past five years. This study examines the trends, causes, and impacts of air pollution in major cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, focusing on key pollutants like particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and carbon monoxide (CO). The analysis reveals a steady increase in pollutant concentrations, driven primarily by industrial emissions, vehicular traffic, and agricultural activities.
