GENDER-SPECIFIC SYMBOLISM IN PROVERBS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ENGLISH, RUSSIAN, AND KYRGYZ CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES
Abstract
This article analyzes the reflection of gender-symbolic aspects in proverbs and sayings with gender reference restrictions in English, Russian and Kyrgyz languages. The aspects of gender stereotype in Kazakh and Kyrgyz proverbs and sayings are considered. Using the example of gender stereotypes, similarities and differences between the linguistic worlds of native speakers of English, Russian and Kyrgyz languages are indicated. The article reveals the value features of the concepts "man\man\erkek" and "woman\woman\ayal", reflecting gender stereotypes that have developed in British, Russian and Kyrgyz culture. The paroemias analyzed by the authors most vividly reflected gender aspects in English, Russian and Kyrgyz linguistic culture, the consideration of which will make it possible to understand the peculiarities of the national character and cultural of these peoples.
