THE ROLE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN TEACHING: UTILIZING REAL-LIFE SOURCES TO ADVANCE THE QUALITY OF THE TEACHING PROCESS

Abstract

In this article it will be discussed how important using authentic materials in the educational sphere, such as news articles, podcasts, and videos, in lieu of traditional textbooks. It underlines that actual information makes learning process more valuable as well as absorbing for learners, and plays a part in enlargement of critical thinking and data analysis skills. Real life materials indicate contemporary events and cultural factors, which provides opportunities to students to better comprehend the language and its implementation in real life. Examples of effective application of such materials in classroom operation and their influence on learners motivation and active engagement are also examined.
