THE ROLE OF TASK-BASED LEARNING IN ENHANCING SPEAKING PROFICIENCY
Abstract
Task-Based Learning (TBL) has emerged as a significant pedagogical approach in language education, particularly in enhancing speaking proficiency among learners. This article explores the principles of TBL and its effectiveness in promoting communicative competence through real-life tasks that encourage interaction and collaboration. By engaging students in meaningful activities, TBL fosters a more immersive learning environment, allowing learners to practice language skills in context. The findings suggest that task-based approaches not only improve fluency and accuracy but also boost learners' confidence in speaking. This paper concludes with recommendations for educators on implementing TBL strategies to maximize speaking proficiency in language classrooms.
