Abstract

Despite the increase in the number of banks or the large number of market participants, the level of monopoly may remain high in the banking system. This situation is largely explained by the fact that the main places in the banking services market are occupied by banks with a state share. The banking services market of Uzbekistan is highly segmented and is associated with the specialization of banks in their industry activities and their own characteristics. Increasing the competitiveness of commercial banks and developing competition in the services market are important issues today. In the modern developing world, the presence of competition serves as the basis for economic development. The development of interbank competition has a positive impact on the activities of all economic entities, regardless of whether they are legal entities or individuals who are bank clients. It helps banks implement a strategy in the services market, form a pricing policy and determine development prospects. This article examines methodologies for studying the level of monopolization of the banking system and based on models of competition in the banking services market.
