ASSESSMENT OF GOOSE FAT-DERIVED OINTMENTS AS A NATURAL REMEDY FOR CHRONIC ALLERGIC DERMATITIS: EFFICACY AND CLINICAL OUTCOMES
Abstract
This study investigated the therapeutic efficacy of goose fat-based ointments in managing chronic allergic dermatitis. A total of 123 patients were randomized into three treatment groups: Group I received a topical formulation containing goose fat, aloe vera, and betamethasone; Group II was treated with an ointment comprising goose fat and aloe vera; while Group III received a formulation containing only betamethasone. Post-treatment evaluations revealed a marked reduction in pruritus intensity and lesion size in both Groups I and III. Group II also showed clinical improvement, although mild to moderate symptoms persisted in some cases. These findings indicate that goose fat-based formulations—especially those enhanced with aloe vera and corticosteroids—may serve as effective and well-tolerated options within a comprehensive treatment strategy for chronic allergic dermatitis.
