DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS IN USING POPULAR ENGLISH EXPRESSIONS AMONG STUDENTS OF NON-LINGUISTIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

This article focuses on the development of skills in using popular English expressions among students in non-linguistic educational institutions. It highlights the importance of idiomatic language as a key aspect of English proficiency, particularly for learners whose primary academic focus lies outside the study of languages. The author emphasizes that understanding and using idiomatic expressions effectively can enhance communicative competence, cultural awareness, and overall fluency. The paper explores teaching strategies, including contextual learning, interactive exercises, and exposure to authentic English materials, to aid students in grasping the nuances of idiomatic expressions. Challenges such as cultural differences, lack of exposure to native speakers, and the complexity of idioms are discussed. The author also provides recommendations for integrating idiomatic language instruction into the curriculum, emphasizing its role in preparing students for real-world communication.
