THE CONNECTION OF HETERONYMS AND HOMONYMS
Abstract
Homonyms are two words that are spelt the same, and pronounced the same, but have a different meanings, present both opportunities and challenges in linguistic communication. This article explores the complexities of homonyms through the lens of context, semantic shifts, ambiguity, and cultural factors. By examining various examples and implications, we aim to highlight the richness of homonyms while also addressing the interpretative challenges that arise. The study emphasizes the importance of context, cultural sensitivity, and disambiguation strategies in effective communication.
