THE TYPOLOGICAL FEATURES OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK CHILDREN'S GAME FOLKLORE
Abstract
This study explores the typological features of children's game folklore in English and Uzbek traditions, focusing on the structural, functional, and cultural aspects of initiation chants ("chorlamalar"), counting rhymes ("sanamalar"), dismissal rhymes ("tarqalmachoqlar"), and movement-based play songs. Through a comparative analysis, the research identifies universal elements such as rhythm, repetition, and structure, alongside cultural nuances reflecting each society's values, historical background, and social context. The findings highlight the significant role of game folklore in fostering creativity, cultural transmission, social bonding, and physical development. By examining the interplay between tradition and innovation in children's play, the study underscores the enduring relevance of folklore in shaping childhood experiences across cultures.
