THE IMPORTANCE OF PHRASAL VERBS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING AND VOCABULARY DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Phrasal verbs are an essential part of the English language and play a significant role in effective communication. They are widely used in everyday conversations, academic contexts, and professional environments. However, many English language learners face difficulties in understanding and using phrasal verbs correctly because their meanings are often idiomatic and different from the meanings of individual words. This article discusses the importance of phrasal verbs in English language learning and vocabulary development. It explains how learning phrasal verbs improves speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while also expanding learners’ vocabulary and increasing language fluency. The article also highlights common challenges faced by learners and suggests effective methods for teaching and learning phrasal verbs. The study concludes that mastering phrasal verbs is necessary for achieving natural and communicative English proficiency.
