Abstract

This article illustrates a structural and functional analysis of phraseological units in English literary texts. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Vinogradov, Kunin and Amosova, the study examines three principal categories of phraseological units. The analysis demonstrates that phraseological units are not ornamental features of literary language but functional constituents that simultaneously perform evaluative, characterizing, expressive, and discourse-organizing roles
