Abstract

The advent of social media has transformed the landscape of language learning, particularly in informal contexts. This article explores the role of social media platforms in facilitating informal language acquisition, emphasizing their impact on learner motivation, cultural immersion, and linguistic competence. Drawing on theoretical frameworks and empirical studies, the paper examines how platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube foster language exposure, interaction, and practice. It also addresses challenges, including issues of accuracy and information overload, while proposing directions for future research.
