LEXICAL SYNONYMY IN NEWS DISCOURSE
Abstract
Lexical synonymy is one of the important phenomena of language, which is the presence of several words in a language that have similar meanings and are interchangeable in context. Synonymy plays a significant role in news discourse, as it allows you to vary the lexical content of the text, avoid repetition, and influence the perception of information. This article will examine how lexical synonymy functions in news discourse, what are its features, and how it helps in building an objective and meaningful narrative.
