SYMMETRIC CRYPTOGRAPHY
Abstract
Symmetric encryption is a cryptographic method used to protect data using a single key. In this encryption method, the sender and receiver use the same secret key.
- Open Text (Plaintext) is a plaintext available before encryption.
- Encryption algorithm (Encryption Algorithm) – encrypts text using a secret key.
- Encrypted text (Ciphertext) is the resulting encrypted, unintelligible text.
- Decryption algorithm-reopens text using the same secret key.
- Open Text recovery (Plaintext) – Open Text returns to its original state.
