LEXICAL MEANS OF EXPRESSING HOSPITALITY IN THE ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN PAREMIOLOGICAL WORLDVIEW
Abstract
The article examines the lexical means of expressing hospitality, reflected in the materials of the paremiological fund of the Russian and English languages; an attempt is made to identify the national-specific features of the concept under study through a comparative study of the proverbial linguistic worldviews of Russian and English ethnic groups. In the Russian linguistic consciousness, the concept of "hospitality" has its own national and cultural specifics, which is determined by the peculiarities of the national character. In particular, this is reflected in the objectification of the concept of "breadth of the Russian soul." In English, the concept of "hospitality" is expressed through the stereotypical character traits of the British: restraint, adherence to etiquette, secularism, as well as through cultural features.
