Abstract

In the training of economists, enhancing their professional competence requires studying mathematical disciplines alongside economics, particularly focusing on probability and statistical methods. Therefore, probability theory and mathematical statistics play a significant role in developing students' economic thinking. However, teaching this subject comes with certain challenges. This article substantiates the relevance of teaching probability theory and mathematical statistics based on the "practical-professional orientation" approach, and provides methods for implementing this process, supported by examples and exercises.
