TITLE: FIELD TRIP, EXCURSIONS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE.
Abstract
This article examines the significant role that field trips, excursions, and outdoor activities play in enhancing foreign language learning. Traditional classroom instruction often limits students to theoretical knowledge, but experiential learning through real-life interactions can bridge the gap between theory and practice. By stepping outside the classroom, students are exposed to authentic language use in diverse environments, such as museums, cultural landmarks, local markets, or foreign travel settings, where they can interact with native speakers and experience the language in a practical context. These experiences not only help improve language proficiency by expanding vocabulary and refining conversational skills, but also foster a deeper cultural awareness that is essential to mastering a foreign language. Moreover, outdoor activities promote active learning, collaboration, and problem-solving, making the language learning process more engaging and enjoyable. This article highlights how such immersive experiences can transform language education by motivating students to apply their language skills in meaningful ways, leading to more effective and lasting language acquisition.
