CLINICAL OUTCOMES OF TWO-STAGE REVISION ARTHROPLASTY FOR PERIPROSTHETIC KNEE JOINT INFECTION
Abstract
Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) remains one of the most difficult complications to manage due to biofilm formation, antimicrobial resistance, and the need for complex revision surgery. Two-stage revision arthroplasty is widely regarded as the gold-standard treatment for chronic knee PJI, yet regional data from Central Asia remain limited. This study evaluates clinical, microbiological, and functional outcomes of two-stage revision for chronic knee PJI at a tertiary referral centre in Uzbekistan.
