DESCRIPTION OF MYTHS IN FICTION
Abstract
Mythonyms are language units formed on the basis of ancient mythological symbols and folk imaginations, which are culturally, linguistically, and aesthetically an important part of fiction. This article analyzes the functions of myths in works of art, their role as image tools and their role in reflecting national and universal cultural values. The contribution of mythonyms to the artistic text is considered in the examples of folklore of Uzbekistan, national epics and world literature. The results show that mythonyms not only increase the aesthetic and semantic depth of the work, but also shape the cultural and moral outlook of the reader.
