Abstract

The journey of women's participation in sports has been transformative, overcoming societal, cultural, and institutional barriers to achieve greater inclusivity and representation. This paper explores the historical evolution of women's involvement in sports, analyzing key milestones, challenges, and successes. Through a detailed literature review and discussion, the study examines the role of advocacy, policy changes, and media in promoting gender equity in sports. The findings highlight progress made, ongoing disparities, and strategies for achieving further inclusion in competitive and recreational sports. The analysis provides insights into the broader implications of gender equity in sports on society and culture.
