WHAT DOES STAND FOR EXACTLY GENDER EQUALITY, IS IT TO BE ANTI-MALE? HOW MUCH DOES GENDER INEQUALITY COST FOR WOMEN IN THEIR SOCIAL LIVES?
Abstract
Gender inequality remains a serious obstacle to equality and sustainable development, causing deep disparities in education, the labor market and health. This article extensively discusses the impact of gender inequality on women's lives and the main challenges women face in accessing equal opportunities in these areas. The article suggests practical measures aimed at solving these issues, the most effective of which are closely related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) put forward by the UN. These measures include: implementing policies that promote gender equality, creating an inclusive and fair education system, guaranteeing equal opportunities in the workplace, and eliminating gender-based biases in the health care system. The analysis presented in the article shows that a strategic approach requiring cooperation between several sectors is necessary to eliminate gender inequality and overcome systemic barriers. This approach serves not only to ensure gender equality, but also to build a fairer and more sustainable future.
