ISSUES OF COMPARATIVE –SEGMENT MORPHONOLOGY.
Abstract
This article deals with the issues of comparative segmental morphonology, an important subfield of linguistics that examines the relationship between phonology (the study of sounds) and morphology (the study of word structure) across different languages. Comparative segmental morphonology focuses on how the structure and form of segments—consonants and vowels—change depending on their morphological context. These phonological changes, which often occur in the context of word formation, inflection, or derivation, can vary greatly across languages.
