THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CASE STUDY METHOD IN TEACHING ENGLISH TO HIGH SCHOOL LEARNERS.
Abstract
The case study method has gained significant attention in educational settings due to its potential to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and real-world application of knowledge. This method involves presenting students with real-life scenarios or situations that they must analyze, discuss, and resolve. In the context of teaching English to high school learners, the case study method encourages active participation, engagement, and the practical use of language skills. This paper explores the effectiveness of the case study method in improving English language proficiency among high school students. By analyzing various case studies and their impact on students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities, the research highlights the benefits of integrating this method into English language classrooms. It also discusses how the case study method fosters deeper understanding, collaborative learning, and better retention of language concepts.
