Abstract

This paper explores the effectiveness of traditional methods in teaching Russian as a basis for successful language acquisition. Traditional approaches, such as grammar drills, vocabulary memorization, and teacher-led instruction, have historically been central to Russian language education. Through a review of key studies, the research highlights the strengths of these methods in fostering grammatical precision, vocabulary retention, and overall linguistic competence. Quantitative data from various sources illustrate the superior performance of students taught using traditional methodologies in standardized tests and structured language tasks. However, limitations, such as reduced conversational fluency, suggest the need for integration with modern, communicative approaches. The study concludes that a hybrid model combining traditional rigor with interactive and practical techniques offers the most effective path to mastering Russian.
