Abstract

This article explores the unique challenges and opportunities of teaching drama within English literature classes, highlighting the distinctions between classic and modern plays. Through qualitative analysis of existing literature, case studies, and interviews with experienced educators, the study identifies effective pedagogical strategies that enhance student engagement and comprehension. Key findings emphasize the importance of understanding the inherent nature of drama, including its language, structure, themes, and contextual relevance. The article advocates for a multifaceted approach to teaching drama, incorporating reading aloud, performance activities, and interdisciplinary connections to enrich students' learning experiences. By providing educators with practical insights, this research aims to foster a deeper appreciation of drama as a vital component of English literature education.
