Abstract

Simultaneous interpreting (SI) is a complex cognitive task that demands rapid processing and reformulation of information in real-time. This article delves into the multifaceted strategies employed by simultaneous interpreters to manage the cognitive load, maintain accuracy, and ensure effective communication. The strategies are examined through a cognitive lens, considering the interplay of attention, memory, and executive functions. Furthermore, the article explores the practical application of these strategies in various interpreting contexts, offering insights for both experienced practitioners and aspiring interpreters. The paper will also address the impact of technological advancements and evolving communication landscapes on the strategies employed in SI.
