LANGUAGE AS A FUNDAMENTAL MARKER OF CULTURAL AND PERSONAL IDENTITY: ITS ROLE IN SOCIAL AND LINGUSTIC CONTEXT
Abstract
This project explores the multifaceted relationship between language and self-knowledge, specifically examining how language shapes individual and collective identity. Language is a tool for communication, but it is also a multifaceted and multidimensional aspect of human life that influences the ways we see ourselves and negotiate our relationship to others. It plays a central role in reflecting and shaping social and personal identities, influencing the way we see the world and our place in it. The discussion delves into how language interacts with culture, social structures, and social mobility. It looks at language’s role in the establishment of cultural identity, the creation of social bonds, and the ease of individuals’ movement within social hierarchies. In addition, the impact of language on perception is explored, revealing how language can shape cognitive processes and cultural understanding. By examining the relationships among language, identity, and perception, this research contributes to an enhanced understanding of how language affects human behavior, relationships, and social interactions.
