PSYCHOLOGICAL PORTRAIT OF A CRIMINAL IN DETECTIVE WORKS
Abstract
In fiction works, characters are one of the important elements that convey the events of the work to readers. The aim of this analysis is to explore the psychological depth of criminals in detective novels, examining their motives and emotional drivers. The study presents different motivations behind criminal actions such as greed, revenge, passion, and self-preservation by giving examples from classic detective literature, including works by Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Margery Allingham and so on.
