“ENHANCING LISTENING COMPREHENSION IN DIVERSE CLASSROOMS: ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM OF PRACTICE THROUGH COLLABORATIVE STRATEGIES”
Abstract
Listening comprehension is a critical skill in language acquisition, yet it presents significant challenges in diverse classrooms where learners have varied linguistic backgrounds and cognitive abilities. This article explores the problem of practice in teaching listening comprehension and proposes collaborative strategies to enhance student engagement and understanding. By integrating cooperative learning, peer interaction, and multimodal resources, educators can create inclusive learning environments that cater to diverse student needs. The study examines the effectiveness of these strategies through empirical research, demonstrating how structured collaboration fosters active listening, critical thinking, and overall comprehension. The findings suggest that a student-centered approach, supported by scaffolding techniques and technology, can significantly improve listening proficiency in multilingual and multicultural classrooms.
