FROM CLASSROOM TO CAREER: DEVELOPING FUTURE ECONOMISTS’ SKILLS THROUGH ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING
Abstract
The article examines the integration of English language learning into the professional training of future economists, focusing on the development of intercultural competence as a key component of career readiness. It identifies specific challenges, including the fragmentation between foreign language instruction and specialized economic disciplines, as well as a decline in student motivation due to the perceived lack of relevance to their career goals. The study emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary approaches that align language education with professional requirements, utilizing methods such as project-based learning, business simulations, and industry collaboration. By embedding intercultural and linguistic skills into economic training, the article highlights strategies for bridging the gap between academic preparation and the demands of international business environments.
