EFFECTIVENESS OF LAPAROSCOPIC TECHNOLOGIES IN THE TREATMENT OF PATHOLOGIES OF THE DUODENUM
Abstract
This article analyzes duodenal pathologies, particularly perforated duodenal ulcer, pyloroduodenal stenosis, peptic ulcer disease complicated by bleeding, and the clinical effectiveness of laparoscopic technologies in their management. A review of the literature shows that, in hemodynamically stable patients, laparoscopic suturing, omental patch repair, diagnostic laparoscopy, and other minimally invasive approaches reduce operative trauma, decrease pain, lower the risk of wound infection, and facilitate early mobilization. At the same time, an open surgical approach may be a safer option in cases of shock, diffuse peritonitis, large perforation, severe cardiopulmonary insufficiency, or insufficient technical capability. Along with the advantages of laparoscopy, the article also discusses limitations related to conversion, suture failure, intra-abdominal abscess, prolonged operative time, and the surgeon’s experience.
