Abstract

This article is dedicated to the field of simultaneous interpretation and the training of simultaneous interpreters. Simultaneous interpreting, often referred to as real-time interpretation, involves translating a speaker’s message into another language almost instantaneously. Unlike consecutive interpreting, where the interpreter translates after the speaker has finished a segment of their speech, simultaneous interpreters work in parallel with the speaker. This requires a unique ability to listen, process, and articulate a translation at virtually the same time.
